Tis the Season

The decorations, the tree, the food and family gatherings begin the Christmas Season.  The excitement sets in and the feeling of joy ....then comes the shopping, the crowds and the 5 weeks of Christmas music.

Tis the season to be jolly....We all begin with this wonderful feeling in search of the perfect gifts.   I love to shop, til it comes to the search.  Gifts, the beautiful wrappings and ribbon.... but the search.

This year began with the search for boots in a particular color. The search went on for weeks.  First, there was 4 stores and no luck.  Then another day 3 more stores and with no results.  Finally, found them online but  then comes the questions.  What if they do not fit?  or What is they are not the right ones? Finally, with time running out, I ordered. They have arrived, but still the questions. Like searching for a needle in a haystack.

How we turn this wonderful time of year into this.  We long to give the perfect gifts, the most creative gifts and the one they love the most.

This is not what Christmas is all about.  We create this stress and all these expectations.  The receiver does not have a clue.  The Gift is not the gift but the thought, the love behind it.  This is like the gift we were given, life ..... the Son upon the cross....for you and me.

Merry Christmas

The Ride /Real Estate

Yesterday, I saw the commercial for the AT&T Blackberry Torch.  Very interesting,  I could not quit thinking about the analogy used in the commercial of amusement rides in a theme park.  ( their marketing concept worked)

Definitely, we can relate to life.  The one ride that sticks out the most is the one where the elevator opens, you step in and it drops several stories down, "the fall".  How true!  Our economy is on that ride right now.

Being in the real estate market since the 90's and past 6 years in relocation, you can really see this ride in motion.  Many have lost jobs and fallen many stories in career ladder.  What a roller coaster we are on right now. The point is we will hit a stopping point.  If you don't have to sell or move don't is the advice.  If you have the opportunity to relocate then do it. The difference is a job change, the opportunity to move up or make that change.  It has never been a better time to buy whether an upgrade, new home or vacation.  The deals are there and this is so healthy for our economy.  Like a financial advisor will say "you can't just sit on your investments it will not grow for sure."  Whatever, you think you might lose on your existing home today you will gain on your new home purchase.  It may just be a wash.  Interest rates are at an all time low. No where to go but up.  Check out http://www.relohomesearch.com/, a great place to start with over 700 cities and 35 countries we can get you where you need to go.

If you are on the" Mad Hatters Tea Party" ride where the tea cups go round and round you may need to get off and make the change. I think going back to our basics, adding a creative touch and maybe stepping out of our comfort zone might just be a starting point.

Fall "in"

I have been itching to get into the "blogging" world, so here it goes.  I have read quite a bit on blogging and believe you can talk about most anything.

My Goal is to use this to provide information on some of my interest and share with others.

Some topics to share will be on Real Estate News, Cooking Tips, Savy Fashion Finds, Good Books, Creative Crafts and maybe some Travels are just a few.

Being from the South food, fun and friends are an important mix.  Almost every event has food.  What to fix is always the question.

With Fall around the corner it is time for apple recipes to surface.  I love Waldorf Salad. It is so light and the colors just scream fall.  Try making it with 3 color of apples and golden raisins.  If you are a calorie watcher use light or fat free mayo and a couple of splenda packets to sweeten.  Put this in a colorful fall colored dish offer a Blessing for your friends, food and family and ready to serve.
